Admissions
Admissions arrangements
Priory School is a co-educational secondary school for young people with severe learning disabilities and autism, aged between 11 and 19. Admissions are governed by the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice. Priory is maintained by the Local Authority and entry is through application directly to the Croydon SEND team. All our students will have a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education Health and Care Plan. Our local offer can be found on this website.
All applications to Priory School are considered by the Headteacher. Our senior staff will visit prospective students in their school setting to carry out an initial assessment, and we welcome visits to the school by parents and carers. We hold regular open mornings and prospective parents can make an appointment for an individual tour of the school and a meeting with Headteacher. If for some reason we cannot meet a student's needs, we will notify the Local Authority SEND adviser, who will be able to advise on a more suitable placement
What should you do if you are considering sending your child to Priory School?
Let us know you are interested in the school. We will arrange for you to visit and we will visit your child in his/her current school. We want to find out as much as possible about your child and we will try to give you as much information as you need. We will keep in contact with you until you have made your decision. We encourage parents to visit, where possible, while their child is in Year 5, or even earlier.
